Madhya Pradesh’s one of the largest parks, Kanha National Park is both a Tiger Reserve and national park located between Balaghat and Mandla districts. Hallon and Banjar were the two sanctuaries of Kanha area. Kanha Kisli was divided between them in the 1930s.
Stretching around 250 to 300 sq. km, Kanha Park was established on **June 1, 1955**. It now covers **940 sq. km**, spreading across these two districts.

Safari booking is available at least 120 days before visit. This quota has around 90% of permits/tickets.
If all jeeps are full in any zone on the official website, you can book a few other tickets. Ticket status is displayed after payment. Confirmation depends on ticket cancellations, which can be done at least 5 days before visit. If confirmed, you'll be notified via SMS. If rejected, you get a refund.
You can avail 90% of permits/tickets in advance online. The remaining 10% is reserved for this quota, which opens at the booking center 1 hour before each safari shift.
